Ways to Prevent Whiplash in Las Vegas

There are several ways in which one can help prevent whiplash in Las Vegas and other areas. Here’s a few of them, but if you are suffering from a whiplash injury, do not hesitate in contacting one of our branches near you in Las Vegas.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) –

ESC or Electronic Stability Control is most useful while driving on a snowy or icy road. Its use comes upfront when a car seems to lose control while driving on an icy road. It helps the driver in controlling the car and managing the steering wheel, while driving on an icy road, or around a fallen tree. There is an anti-lock braking system that helps in understanding the driver’s intended direction and the car’s response, its turning side, acceleration as well as wheel speeds. After accessing information, the ESC applies the brake, thus slowing the engine and the wheel speed. It also controls the traction speed, and slows down the car, until total control over the car is gained. It is also a known fact that ESC is very helpful in preventing rollover for cars like SUVs, vans, pickup trucks etc. ESC is present in most cars that have the tendency to roll over. Though it might not prevent complete rollover, it works to a certain extent and helps in avoiding bitter circumstances. This is the main reason why all car accident doctors, or car accident chiropractor places advice, to drive ESC installed cars.

Day Time Running Lights (DRL) –

Cars, generally don’t use lights in the daytime. But this low cost, special lights helps in avoiding crashes. These lights turn on automatically when the car is moving emitting yellow, white or amber colored light that helps in making the vehicle visible, thus preventing it from crashes. It is most likely to be used in foggy areas.

Traction Control System (TCS) –

Most car accident chiropractor tells that having a Traction Control System (TCS) or Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR) prevents, car accidents and thus in turn prevents Whiplash. It helps in preventing a loss of traction, when the car pedal is pushed too fast. The work of TCS is to sense, when the tire slips, and then put a brake, or force, to control the car from losing control. It might sound very easy, but it is surely not as easy as it sounds, for all these slips happens within a fraction of a second. TCS is the opposite of ESC or the anti-braking system in the ESC, and therefore allows more acceleration, while anti braking system prevents de-acceleration. For instance, if a car starts slipping, the TCS will control it and eliminate the slipping of the wheels.
Other than these 3, there are few other ways as well. Like, Blind Spot Detection Systems which are there on the side of the roads, to allow the driver to know about the other approaching vehicles. Its working is very basic. When the driver of the car, in the blind spot, turns on their signal, the system alerts the other drivers, those who can’t see the mentioned cars, by sending a sound, or light, thus helping in preventing crashes. Like these there are, Back-up Warning System, Forward Collision Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System etc. There are even systems that help the car in getting into the right lane.
Even after following precautionary steps, accidents happen, and car accident treatment is required, and what better place of getting such treatments than southern Nevada chiropractic clinic. Drive safe and be safe. Avoid Whiplash and try and stay healthy.
